Concise English Version of Senior Care Facility Wall Protection Case

A 3-star chain medical-nursing complex in Jinan covers a total floor area of 23,000 ㎡ with 320 senior care beds, covering full functional zones including independent living apartments, semi-disabled care areas and exclusive dementia care zones.

Before renovation, the facility faced long-term wall pain points such as high-frequency collision damage, mold accumulation in seams and harsh light reflections that irritated seniors' vision, which failed to meet the infection control and safety requirements for senior care venues.

The project adopted a targeted customized solution: soft-matte high-elastic antibacterial wall panels with full arc edges and no sharp corners are used in the dementia zone; high-impact resistant composite anti-collision wall panels paired with matching handrails are installed in care areas; seamless moisture-proof wall panels are applied in humid zones. All panels adopt low-saturation warm color schemes to adapt to the visual habits of the elderly.

Two years after delivery, the wall damage rate has dropped by 95%, annual operation and maintenance cost has been reduced by 88%, and the incidence of collision-related accidental injuries among residents has decreased by 72%. The project successfully passed the provincial hygiene and safety inspection for senior care institutions, and has become a demonstration sample for age-friendly renovation in Jinan.
