Full-wall Protection Upgrading Cooperation Case for Large State-owned Bank Branches

Project Background

The Jinan Branch of this large state-owned bank manages 42 business outlets across core commercial districts, residential communities and industrial parks in Jinan. For a long time, the wall surfaces of these outlets have faced multiple operation and maintenance pain points. Exposed wall sockets and messy wires around self-service equipment in the business hall brought hidden risks of electricity hazards and data leakage. The original protection facilities at cash counters had been in service for more than 15 years, and some areas failed to meet the latest financial security standards. The walls in high-traffic public areas were frequently scratched by trolleys and moved equipment, resulting in widespread paint peeling and dents. The exterior walls of some old outlets had hidden water seepage risks, while traditional wall surfaces could not adapt to the scenario-based layout requirements for anti-fraud publicity and compliance notices. To fully implement the safety specifications for the banking industry, and simultaneously improve the outlet image and operation efficiency, the branch launched a systematic upgrading project for wall protection across all its outlets.

Compliance-oriented Solution Design

The project was fully developed in strict alignment with national financial safety standards including the Specification for Installation of Transparent Protection Barriers in Bank Business Premises, and a layered protection system was customized for different areas of each outlet:

For cash business zones, F79B bulletproof rated transparent protection barriers were adopted. The protection area of each single panel was strictly controlled within 4 square meters, with an installation depth of no less than 40mm, supported by reinforced metal frames. This design fully meets the core safety requirements of cash counters, while maintaining unobstructed visibility during business processing.

Embedded password-locked wall socket protective covers were fully installed in self-service equipment areas of the business hall, paired with flame-retardant wire ducts that separate strong and weak electricity. All exposed interfaces are fully enclosed to prevent unauthorized plugging and data leakage, and all wires are invisibly stored along the walls, completely eliminating the previous problem of messy wires that damaged the visual presentation of the business hall.

Class A fire-rated metal wood-grain anti-collision wall panels were installed in public passages and customer waiting areas. With a 0.8mm galvanized steel base layer and a buffer corrugated structure, the panels can effectively withstand daily impacts from smart equipment transfers and service trolleys. The anti-fouling coating on the surface can withstand high-frequency disinfection wiping, leaving no stubborn stains even after long-term use.

For the exterior walls of outlets and the cash replenishment rooms of some old outlets, supporting waterproof reinforcement and rigid protection renovation were carried out, fundamentally eliminating hidden risks such as wall water seepage and exposed wires. Modular replaceable publicity panels were also reserved on the walls, making it convenient for outlets to quickly update anti-fraud reminders and financial science popularization content.

Phased Implementation

The project adopted the promotion mode of "pilot first, batch implementation". Two core flagship outlets were selected first to complete the sample project and pass acceptance, confirming that all parameters fully meet the financial safety inspection standards of the local public security department. Then the renovation of all outlets was carried out in 6 batches. All construction works were arranged during non-business hours, and the dual-person supervision system for bank outlet construction was strictly implemented. Image records and material test reports were submitted synchronously for every hidden construction stage. The whole process did not cause any disruption to the normal business operations of the outlets, and the delivery of all 42 outlets was completed within a total project cycle of 6 months.

Project Outcomes and Value

After acceptance, the project successfully passed the special inspection of the banking safety system in Shandong Province. All wall-related safety hazards across the outlets were completely eliminated. The scattered wall maintenance cost, which used to be nearly 200,000 RMB per year, has been reduced by 90%, and no large-scale wall renovation will be needed within 5 years. The neat and unified protected walls, paired with modular anti-fraud publicity areas, have increased the reach rate of financial safety reminders in the business hall by 60%. The project not only meets the strict compliance requirements of the financial industry, but also greatly optimizes the in-store service experience for customers. It has become a benchmark demonstration project for banking outlet safety upgrading in Jinan, and has been referenced and reused by many local city commercial banks later.
